Patricia Hobbs graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education. While at Southern she had the opportunity to work with Richard Buckminster Fuller on the 1969 Design Convention in Denver, Colorado. Her painting included “Earth Shine” and Buckminster’s Dymaxion Map for World Games. This painting was shown on NBC television at the opening coverage of the convention. At that time, the news media was predominately covering NASA and space travel. She earned her Master in Fine Arts from Western Illinois University.
Patricia taught visual art for 34 years in grades K-14 in private and public schools and one workshop at the medium security prison in Galesburg, IL.
She has exhibited her works in several states, and in Canada, including a one-person show of paintings and art quilts at the MAC Gallery previously known as West Central Illinois Art Center in Macomb, IL.
