Jazz Blast

Quilted Fabric, 34” x 42.5”

This quilt was made for Ricky Tims’ (of the Quilt Show) Challenge — it was to be an improvisational design. I began with the 2” diameter black, crocheted antique button with spokes of bright colors radiating out from it’s center. The word “Jazz” in the title comes from the fact that Ricky is a musician and I could see the music blasting out from a trumpet, like the pieces on this quilt radiating from the bell of a trumpet.
